Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau Wins 7 Marketing Awards
Batavia, Ohio, Nov. 21, 2019 – The Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau recently received recognition for achievement in marketing at the Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards presentation, held Oct. 17, in West Chester, Ohio. The bureau received two Citations of Excellence in email marketing and social media. Accepting the award was Jeff Blom, President, and Sarah Gleason, Marketing and Communications Manager.
The Ohio Travel Association’s Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance Yearly (RUBY) Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s travel industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. Competition was strong this year with more than 216 entries in print-based, web-based, marketing campaign, advertisement and video categories among others. The awards were presented during the Ohio Conference on Travel.
In addition, The Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (OACVB) held its 22nd Annual Awards of Excellence and President’s Luncheon in Gahanna, Ohio on Thursday, Nov. 14. At the luncheon STAR Awards were presented for destination marketing and tourism development efforts.
The Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau took home five STAR Awards in the following categories-
· 1st place- Brochure, Flyer and Rack Card
· 1st place- E-Newsletter (Industry Insider)
· 2nd place- Commercial/Video
· 2nd place- E-Newsletter (Visitor Newsletter)
· 2nd place- Social Media Campaign
“We are thrilled to be honored by OTA and OACVB and their panel of marketing judges. We are excited to win two Citation of Excellence awards and five STAR awards this year,” said Jeff Blom, President of the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Sarah Gleason, Marketing and Communications Manager and Amanda Berger, former Digital Marketing Coordinator did an excellent job with the marketing projects that we put in place for 2019,” he added.
The OACVB STAR Awards (“State Tourism Achievement Recognition”) honor outstanding efforts by Ohio Convention & Visitor Bureaus in their work to market and promote their area destinations and to generate overall awareness of the tourism industry. Recipients were honored for their innovation, creativity, effectiveness and impact in travel and tourism marketing and advertising.
Convention and Visitors Bureaus are best described as destination marketing organizations and are responsible for promoting travel and tourism product awareness to visitors. Many outstanding marketing projects were submitted for the annual awards competition. Being recognized for a job well-done in the promotion of travel and tourism throughout the state of Ohio is a highly valued achievement.
