All about Downtown Loveland
Downtown Loveland boasts fantastic outdoor fun, community inspired art and a wonderful atmosphere for socializing and recreation. The Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail runs right through town, and Loveland has become one of its finest stops. Other area attractions include the Little Miami State and National Scenic River — for nature lovers, this is the perfect spot to take in nature and enjoy the gentle flow of the river with plenty of space to play outdoor games.
Food to Make Your Mouth Water
There are plenty of places to enjoy a good meal in downtown Loveland. The shop keepers and restaurateurs have a deep love for the town, and many pay a lot of deference to the history of the area. Plus, the food is outstanding.
Take Paxton’s Grill — this friendly bar and grill is located right near the bike trail, the perfect place to take a break on your travels. For the history buffs, Paxton’s building is one of the oldest in the area, offering a fantastic feel of days gone by. Their burgers are probably the best in the area, but they offer a full menu for every taste, serving lunch, dinner and breakfast on the weekends. It’s a great place to socialize or just fill up before hitting the great outdoors.
The Works Brick Oven Restaurant offers something special. The food is outstanding, but the building itself was built in 1905 as a water filling station for locomotives. The Works has a great atmosphere and a phenomenal pizza. If you’re interested in hosting a gathering, they have something completely unique. The restaurant offers a Pullman Passenger Car called “The Crusader” to accommodate parties up to 36 people. There’s something you won’t get in just any restaurant.
There are plenty of other great eateries in the area to choose from, as well.
Keeping You Entertained
The Loveland Stage Company hosts a number of productions annually, right in downtown Loveland in a historic movie house. For those interested in fine arts, there are three events hosted by the Loveland Arts Counsel — The Loveland Art Show, The Paint Out and The Winter Art Show. If your visit doesn’t coincide with one of these events, but you’d love a chance to peruse artist’s work from the area, The Loveland Artists Studio on Main opens its doors to patrons on the second Saturday of each month.
Loveland is also home to Plaid Room Records, the one stop shop for all of your musical needs. The business sells everything from vinyl records to CDs to turntables. It is also home to Coleman Records recording studio. It’s a great place for anyone who loves music and history and is located right on the bike trail, so they’re easy to find.
