Completed in 1867, Promont is an Italianate-style home with unique architectural elements that was called the finest house in Clermont County when built. Promont was the home of Governor John M. Pattison from 1879-1906. A large stained glass window on the front stairway, varied moldings in each room, Italian marble fireplaces, and a four-story tower offering a panoramic view of the town provide a trip back to the elegance of the Victorian period.
The museum offers a library, period furnishings, art, china, photographs, and memorabilia. This was once the home of John M. Pattison, Ohio’s 43rd Governor. Open Friday and Sunday 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM year round. 906 Main St.
