Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau Emerges in the Group Travel Market
New group tour developments in Clermont County set to attract more visitors to the region
Batavia, OH (January 24)- The group travel sector is an integral market within the travel industry. As the expanding travel industry trends shift, group travel will continue to grow into the future. Sales and Events Manager, Margaret Bedilion, is set to attend to two major group tour conventions this winter to attract more groups to the Clermont County area.
The American Bus Association (ABA), taking place January 25-29, 2019 in Louisville, KY at the Kentucky International Convention Center, will feature more than 3,500 tour operators, suppliers and exhibitors in the group tour market. The ABA serves a thriving industry that provides more than 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service and shuttles. Membership in ABA includes motor coach operators, tour operators, tourism-related organizations, and products and service suppliers.
Bedilion will be traveling on behalf of Ohio Has IT!, an industry-led marketing partnership created to showcase the endless experiences that Ohio has for motor coach groups. One of the key membership benefits is the ability to be represented at several group tour-focused shows and marketplaces, such as ABA.
In addition, Clermont County will be represented at The Heartland Travel Showcase, held February 22-24, 2019 at the COBO Convention Center in Detroit, MI. This showcase will focus on the group tour market of the entire Heartland region, which includes much of the Midwest and parts of Canada. The showcase allows operators and exhibitors to have scheduled meetings to make brief introductions and highlight information about travel offerings in the area.
“I am thrilled to be attending both ABA and Heartland Travel Showcase!” states Bedilion. “The group tour market is a new market for Visitors Bureau to sell. By attending these shows, it will allow us to build relationships with professionals in the group tour market from all over the US and Canada. The great thing about Heartland Travel showcase is that all of the tour operators currently run tours to the Midwest,” she added.
The recently launched tours, BBQs and Brews, Food and Farm, and Underground Railroad, are perfect for any group looking for some of the most unique experiences in the Clermont County and the greater Cincinnati region. These tour stops feature breweries, restaurants, historical sites, farms and more.
“The group tour market is one that we can target for Clermont County. With our hotels conveniently located off of I-275, bus groups can get to any attraction in Clermont County or the Cincinnati region in about 30 minutes,” expresses Clermont Count Convention and Visitors Bureau President, Jeff Blom. “Whether they are senior or student groups, we have itineraries that educate, as well as excite groups about our history, outdoor recreation and nature, wonderful area attractions, local foods, craft breweries and wineries and more.”
Our tours are customizable and can be modified to fit the needs of any group. If you are interested in learning more about group tours in Clermont County, including sample itineraries, visit: https://discoverclermont.com/do/group-tours/.
