If your ideal day involves fresh air, a little exercise and no finish line, Clermont County has plenty of places to start. 

Cincinnati Nature Center offers plenty of opportunities to slow down and explore the outdoors. With more than 20 miles of trails winding through forests, meadows and streams, there’s always something new to discover. Take the Rowe Woods trails, where you can wander through peaceful woodland scenery and keep an eye out for native wildlife along the way. 

And Cincinnati Nature Center isn’t the only place to explore. 

In Milford, the Valley View Foundation offers more than five miles of mowed trails across 190 acres along the East Fork of the Little Miami River. The property combines open fields, wooded hillsides, streams and river views, making it an easy place to slow down and explore. 

Want a little more of a challenge? Head to Clingman Park near Batavia. The 132-acre property includes trails, meadows and sunflower fields and provides a setting for activities including cross-country and cyclocross races.

Clermont County's waterways aren't just scenic. They're places to play. 

At East Fork State Park, Harsha Lake provides a backdrop for kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding, as well as some of the county's biggest competitive sporting events. The lake features a 2,000-meter open-water course and has hosted the USRowing National Championships, the NCAA Women's Rowing National Championships and other major competitions. 

The same place that welcomes elite rowers also gives recreational visitors plenty of room to enjoy the water at their own pace. 

And you don't have to stay on the lake. 

The Little Miami River is best experienced from the water, and Clermont County has outfitters ready to get you there. In Loveland, Loveland Paddlesports offers kayak trips along the Little Miami, including its popular Castle Adventure, which takes paddlers past the historic Loveland Castle. Near Milford, Scenic River Canoe Excursions offers canoe and kayak trips along the Little Miami, giving you a chance to trade the trail for the water and take in the river's wooded scenery from a different perspective

Disc golf combines a little bit of hiking, a little bit of strategy and a whole lot of "where did that disc go?"

Osage Grove Disc Golf Course in Goshen gives experienced players a technical challenge across 80 acres of wooded terrain. The course features multiple layouts, multiple tee options, a disc-driving range and a putting practice area.

For a shorter and more approachable round, head to Karl Von Coldewey Disc Golf at Leming Community Park in Milford. The public nine-hole course sits inside a larger community park, making it easy to combine a round with a walk, picnic or other family activities.

And in Williamsburg, the Williamsburg Disc Golf Course offers another way to play among the woods and elevation along the Little Miami River.

Golf is a little bit of strategy, a little bit of patience and a lot of trying to make that one really good shot happen again. 

Clermont County has 10 golf courses, giving golfers plenty of ways to spend a day on the links. 

At The Golf Club at Stonelick Hills in Batavia, golfers can work their way through a course designed around the area's natural landscape, with rolling terrain and scenic views along the way. 

Cedar Trace Golf Club in Batavia offers 18 holes across 197 acres of hills, valleys and lakes. Its layout welcomes experienced golfers while remaining approachable for intermediate and beginner players.
