Sarah Gleason Joins OTLA

Jan. 22 2019

We are excited to announce that Sarah Gleason, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be joining the Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy (OTLA) class of 2019!

OTLA is a leadership program presented through the Ohio Travel Association that consist of monthly classes taking place January through June in the Greater Columbus area. Class participants engage in educational programs, discussion panels, presentations, tours and other tools to strengthen their Ohio travel industry knowledge.

“I am excited to be a part of the OTLA class of 2019,” said Gleason. “I look forward to networking and making connections with industry leaders. I am also excited to participate in the monthly sessions and expand my knowledge on travel and tourism in the state of Ohio.”

The Ohio Travel Association is a nonprofit association representing Ohio’s $44 billion travel industry. This organization is driven to create a strong, equipped and profitable travel economy.

Class members include individuals from a variety of travel service sectors including attractions, museums, theme parks, CVBs, government, hotels, restaurants, and more. OTLA provides attendees with a key understanding of the travel industry and strengthens relationships among tourism partners through networking connections.

The President of the Clermont County CVB, Jeff Blom, completed the program in 2018.

“The Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy is an excellent program. The six-month course includes tourism topics such as leadership and economics, arts and culture, legislative advocacy, Ohio natural resources and outdoor recreation, media training, history and heritage. In addition, you are assigned group projects to work on and make presentations at the last session. The networking and sharing of best practices elevate the experience for all participants,” said Blom. “This will be a great experience for Sarah and continues to improve our CVB operations. We want to make the Clermont County CVB the best it can be,” he added.
