LAST BLAST OF SUMMER AND PSL SEASON BEGINS- A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Labor Day Weekend is upon us and once again, summer goes out with a bang! With temperatures in the nineties this week, the pools, lakes and rivers still beckon to keep you and your families cool. This weekend and the month of September is a great time to discover Clermont County. Cincinnati’s Riverfest, which started in the 1970’s, is the annual end of summer celebration with food, drinks, live music and of course, the WEBN Fireworks sponsored by Western & Southern. It is our region’s farewell to summer where over a half million people swarm the banks of the Ohio River to watch one of the Midwest’s best fireworks displays on Sunday, September 1st.

A long weekend is the perfect opportunity to plan a kayaking trip down the Little Miami State and National Scenic River, go hiking at East Fork or Stonelick State Parks, experience nature programs at one of our Clermont County Parks or the award-winning Cincinnati Nature Center. Bring or rent your bikes and pedal your way down the Little Miami Bike Trail or Williamsburg to Batavia Hike & Bike Trail. Grab donuts and coffee in the morning to rev up your adventure, then reward yourself with lunch and craft beers at Narrow Path, Mt. Carmel Brewery, Paradise East or Little Miami Brewery or one of the many restaurants located right off the bike trail. Enjoy one of the region’s family attractions such as Kings Island, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Center, Cincinnati Museum Center, Newport Aquarium or a BB Riverboat cruise on the scenic Ohio River.

As we turn the page to fall, grab your pumpkin spice latte (PSL) from Bean & Brew, Goshen Grind, Wholy Beans Coffee or Mile 42 Coffee…all great hidden gem coffee shops for our visitors to Clermont County. Visit Shaw Farms or Blooms and Berries for their annual fall festivals and take a beautiful pumpkin and squash home with you. Hoist your bier stein at Loveland’s Oktoberfest or Oktoberfest ZinZinnati! Enjoy amazing artworks available for purchase at art shows in Milford, Loveland and New Richmond. If you would like to discover where your food comes from, buffalo, alpacas, cattle, goats and maybe even enjoy a pony ride, then join us for the 4th Annual Clermont Food and Farm Tour (FREE!) the weekend of September 28-29. Don’t forget to bring your cooler, as you will want to buy locally raised beef, pork and chicken, as well as organic fruits and vegetables. To top off your visit over the next few weekends, enjoy a glass of wine and live music at Harmony Hill Vineyard. You can buy a bottle of Ovation, or simply stand up and give Clermont County a standing “Ovation” when you experience all there is to see and do here!

We invite you to visit and DISCOVER CLERMONT.
